Business Analysts and Data Scientists are in huge demand, as global
companies seek to digitally transform themselves and leverage their
data resources to realize competitive advantage. This book covers
all the fundamentals, from statistics to programming to business
applications, to equip you with the solid foundational knowledge
needed to progress in business analytics. Assuming no prior
knowledge of programming or statistics, this book takes a simple
step-by-step approach which makes potentially intimidating topics
easy to understand, by keeping Maths to a minimum and including
examples of business analytics in practice. Key features:
·       Introduces
programming fundamentals using R and Python
·       Covers data
structures, data management and manipulation and data visualization
·       Includes
interactive coding notebooks so that you can build up your
programming skills progressively Suitable as an essential text for
undergraduate and postgraduate students studying Business Analytics
or as pre-reading for students studying Data Science. Ram
Gopal is Pro-Dean and Professor of Information Systems at the
University of Warwick. Daniel Philps is an Artificial
Intelligence Researcher and Head of Rothko Investment Strategies.
Tillman Weyde is Senior Lecturer at City, University of
London.

Conversational systems or chatterbots converse/chat by learning
from their interactions with users. To do this the systems must
have an adaptive knowledge base that can be updated by the systems
themselves. RONE is a tele-text based conversational system. RONE's
knowledge base is built using SQL and accessed using the main
application. Additionally, RONE uses conjunctions and prepositions
as markers to expedite the dissemination and storage of information
which helps him learn. This book covers the approach RONE uses to
break up new information for learning purposes - the principle
technique introduced here being the storage of information in a
format to answer all the possible questions directly without
inference. We also look at other conversation based learning
approaches and their limitations. Further, we compare RONE's
performance against some contemporary conversational systems and
provide evidence of the relative superior informational accuracy of
RONE's responses to user interrogation.

In his quest for scientific and technological knowledge, Man has
made tremendous progress. He has gone to the moon and is on the
threshold of visiting other distant planets in the Solar system and
beyond. But his inner self remains in turmoil. His quest for
spiritual enlightenment is in disarray as he gropes to understand
the manifestation of the cosmic power that orders our universe and
infinite billions of galaxies around us, and sends planets spinning
through the vastness of Outer Space in their seemingly orderly
course. Connected to it are the other issues relating to the
meaning of religion and spirituality, and their place and
significance in the inner and external environment of an
individual's life. An inquisitive mind seeks answers to these
matters that appear to him as riddles. The lay individual with more
than ritualistic interest in Hindu religion is often perplexed by
the phenomenon of multitude of divinities, the significance of idol
worship and various rituals, the importance and relevance of
prayers, and such other matters. When he turns to the treatises by
religious teachers and spiritual leaders for answers to the queries
or scepticism that frequently arise in his mind, he finds the texts
complex and written in an idiom that is not easy to comprehend.
Deeply influenced by the teaching of the Bhagvat Gita, the author,
Shri Ram Gopal Bhatnagar, has compiled this treatise on Hinduism,
"Face to face with the Supreme" as a labour of love. It is a
welcome addition to the vast aggregation of literature on Hinduism
as it seeks to reach out to the lay individual to satisfy his
curiosity and answer the questions that crop up in his mind in
language that is simple and clear. The author has attempted to
unravel the complexities of Hinduism in the novel form of an
imaginary interview with God. Through carefully framed questions,
he has sought to clarify and communicate the complex subtexts of
Hinduism.
